The National Archaeological Museum of Tarragona (MNAT) collaborates in the first call for the Centcelles Artistic Heritage Painting Award, promoted by the City Council of Constantí and addressed to paintings inspired in some element of the Monumental Complex of Centcelles. The call for proposals is sponsored by Repsol and has the advise of Escola d'Art i Disseny of the Diputació de Tarragona.
The director of MNAT, Mònica Borrell, highlighted during the presentation of the award, that the call is "an oportunity to add more efforts to continue linking the Monumental Complex of Centcelles with the arts and promoting shared and future values". The MNAT offers the participants the chance to visit the monument to be able to present their proposals and it will also host the exhibition of the finalist' paintings starting in November. The final veredict is planned to be presented in a public ceremony in Centcelles on Saturday 16th of November.
The Centcelles Artistic Heritage Painting Award appears as an aim to promote the artistic creation and the cultural heritage dissemination. The paintings presented must be completely inedit and they must not have been presented, published or shown before in any type of format or artistic contest. Any artist with free technique can submit their work. The presentation of the works will be from the 1st to the 30th of September, 2024 at the OAC of the City Council of Constantí. As for the awards, there wil be a first prize of 3.000€ and a second prize of 1.000€. The contest rules are available in this link.
The MNAT and the City Council of Constantí will also collaborate in the organization of the Centcelles Music Composition Award, which will celebrate it's fourth call this year. The participation deadline of this award will be open until the 14th of May.
