This statue would have been part of the decoration of the schola of the Tarraco collegium fabrum, the seat of the corporation of building workers.

It represents the goddess Minerva wearing a Corinthian helmet. A highly classical work in a variation of a still unknown Greek prototype, it was included in the decoration of this building as the goddess was the patron of artisans.
